Assessment and reporting
At Holland Park State School, our teachers use a variety of standardised and diagnostic assessments to diagnose learning needs, determine achievement and inform teaching. Students are also assessed throughout and at the end of a unit of work to determine their overall understanding of the topic, these assessment pieces are moderated across the year level to ensure consistency. Students in years 3 and 5 participate in National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN).
Written report cards are issued twice yearly, using a five point scale to report student achievement. Parent teacher interviews are offered in terms 1 and 3. A variety of assessment pieces are used to demonstrate student learning and inform end of semester reporting.
